Sourcing for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role will play an integral part in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to grow within a fast-moving retail environment.
This is a hybrid position, offering a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support inventory accounting, including tracking and reconciliation of stock levels and cost of goods sold
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies
- Partner with operations and merchandising teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience (retail or consumer goods experience preferred)
- Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) preferred
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory accounting or retail operations
- Exposure to multi-location or omnichannel retail environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail reporting tools
